Normally I am not very devoted to the stores i purchase fly fishing equipment. But the Blackfoot Angler is an awesome little fly shop. They have a friendly and very knowledgeable staff. I have shopped there every summer for the last 12 years. I never visit the region without a stop in the store. They fulfill the ultimate goal of a fishing shop: they help fishermen catch more and bigger fish.
Kathy & Travis are knowledgeable and Very helpful – and they love the Blackfoot River and valley. Expert or novice, they will make sure you are taken care of. It may look like a small store, but they have anything you need (and there’s no store big enough to hold all their knowledge of the region and the fish that swim there). Even if you don’t need anything it’s still a shop you should visit – Just to spend some time with these great people.

Great shop, great people! One of my mandatory MT stops. Kathy and Travis are super knowledgeable about local fishing, hiking, wildlife and pretty much everything else! Do yourself a favor and stop in!
Kathy and Travis are the best. Not only do they love fly fishing and are willing to chat with you all day long, but they are people that love the blackfoot valley more than anybody. If you are driving, or their favorite, biking through town, make sure to stop by and support this business, i promise it's worth your while. Tight lines!
It was with great anguish we read D. Coledi's review. We are hoping he has us confused with a fly shop in a sister city with a very similar name, as we had been closed during that time and I, Ms. Shopkeeper, prides herself on giving every customer as much help, and sometimes more, than they requested. Also I am not known for my fly or leader tying skills. If it was indeed us I apologize profusely and promise that this was an anomaly. [ADDED NOTE: We have now noticed the same review with some added touches to the Blackfoot River Outfitters in Missoula so am assuming there was a confusion in the name. Now to just get this removed.....]
